MY APPROACH
Lisa Celentano, LMHC

We live in volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous times…we are facing wicked challenges both now and for the future. How do we make sense of the way global crises have already altered our sense of personal identity? Who and how do we chose to be for the future - knowing there may be less global and local stability? My mental health counseling and coaching is focused on developing "what it takes" through a process of personal re-creation and emergence. Today, we all need a foundational self grounded in resilience, mental agility, clarity and integrity.

My approach in both mental health counseling, coaching and clinical supervision is founded on the principles of Integral theory. As an Integral Psychotherapist, I draw primarily from Integral Theory, Spiral Dynamics, developmental psychology, and the concepts of antifragility and ecopsychology. My primary mentors have been Ken Wilber, Mark Forman, Sean Esbjorn-Hargens, Barrett Brown, Jesse McKay, and Dana Carmen. My major influences are Robert Kegan and Nassim Nicholas Taleb. During both counseling and coaching sessions, I use Integral perspective taking, individual and sociocultural developmental stage theory, and concepts of antifragility.

We must not only think with mental agility but relate adeptly and humanely. For both mental health counseling and coaching, I draw from my relational psychotherapy training – psychodynamic, humanistic, transpersonal and especially existential. I use mindful presence and collaborative joining to create a strong relational container where mutuality and insight can arise naturally and intuitively.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor in Washington state. I received my graduate education in California at John F. Kennedy University. In 2016, I graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a holistic Integral Psychotherapy specialization. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Management degree in 2010 from University of Phoenix. I am currently enrolled in an Ecopsychology Certification Program through Pacifica Graduate Institute and begin working toward International Coach Federation coaching certification through Co-Active Training Institute in Summer 2023.
